After a site visit and meeting with the client, students were assigned to create a shed for the Carolina Xeriscape Initiative on Prairie Island, a garden focusing on native flora. This project utilizes a metal scaffolding system that is easy to assemble and expand upon, with attachable panels of glass and wood. Corridors extend on a linear axis from the enclosed greenhouse and shed along the American Tabacco Trail. One corridor encompasses the trail, and the other hugs the garden with shaded places to rest and view the flora. To improve this project, the integration of the project into the garden could be better illustrated by increasing the visibility of the garden from the road.
